You can then combine any other unit to achieve a Level 3 Certificate in Photography, if you complete all

COURSE INFORMATION

SEG Level 3 Certificate in Photography 603/5007/6

For anyone who is looking to work as a commercial photographer, either employee or self-employed.  Including, Weddings Couples/Engagements, Bumps-New-Born-Toddlers, Model-Makeovers, Low-Key Romantic, Families , our 10-day level 3 Award in Photography course would be ideal.

The course is run from our contemporary studio in Bournemouth, Dorset and has been designed around the day-to-day business practices of a commercial studio.

Theory includes understanding exposures (ISO, Aperture and Time/Shutter Speed), using a light meter, how to set-up studio lighting, creating a set, shooting in daylight using on and off camera flash and Photoshop plus much more.

Practical  includes a lot of opportunities to practice with all the studio equipment on numerous shoots with models, including Bumps-Newborn-Toddlers, Weddings,  Engagement-Couples, Make-overs plus many more. You will also go out on location with models and use portable lighting equipment for life-style shoots at local beauty spots as well as learning  how to set-up a mobile studio for when you go clients’ homes.

The studio will be available to students to use during the evenings and weekends to practice the skills they have learnt

On completion of the course, students are welcome to spent two weeks work experience with us in our studio. This will involve the day to day running of a commercial studio, helping with shoots, editing, printing and dealing with customers.

Terms of Business

    • A non-returnable deposit of £100 is required when booking with the balance to be paid on the first day of the seminar. Failure to give four weeks’ notice of cancellation of seminar will require full payment still to be paid
    • Courses booked less than four weeks before the course start date- Full payment required when booking, no cancellations or refunds will be given
    • Bookings from outside the UK- Full payment required when booking, no cancellations or refunds will be given
    • Payment is required in full when booking private seminars
    • All major credit cards are accepted
    • All resettlement students booking through ELCAS and The CTP will adhere to ELCAS and The CTP’s own terms of business.

WHAT THE COURSE LEADS TO
Level 3 Certificate in Photography 603/5007/6

On successful completion of this course, students will be eligible to enrol on a Level 3 Diploma in Photography, either through First Point Photography or any other approved training centre offering the qualification.

HOW TO APPLY

All our courses are aimed at the complete amateur to the improving professional. No formal entry qualifications are required to attend this course, only an interest for photography, willingness to learn and lots of enthusiasm.

Once booked onto a course we will send you some pre-course notes to help bring you up to speed. On the First day of your course you will be given your course packs that contain all the course notes.

For the course you will need a digital SLR with a small zoom lens, a flash unit for your camera, AA batteries and a laptop, any equipment you do not have will be lent to you free of charge, however you will be required to supply your own AA batteries.

FAQs

Does the cost for the photography course include everything I need? Or are there any extra fees?

The cost of the photography course covers all that you will need. The only extra cost will be for accommodation if required.

Do I need to have some experience in photography before I can come on a course?

You do not need to have any commercial experience; however it would benefit you if you have a good basic understanding of your camera and exposures when taking photographs.

What do I need to bring with me to the course?

Your camera equipment including; camera, small zoom lens, flash unit and memory cards, laptop and card reader (all are available during the courses to borrow if required).

Is there any back-up to help me after the course?

Once you have attended the course we offer continuous support with no restriction on time scale. You are always welcome to email, call or visit us.

What is the dress code?

There is no formal dress code. We advise you to bring something warm and weatherproof for when we will be shooting on location.

What use of the images taken on the course will I have?

All images taken on the course can be used for promotional purposes i.e. websites, brochures, portfolio’s.

What is the maximum number of students on each course?

All courses are limited to six students.
