Our courses are intended for the keen photographer who is looking to develop their photography skills into a profitable business. All our courses are very practical and therefore will involve a lot of picture taking, enabling you to create your own portfolio.

As a City & Guilds accredited centre, all our course include a City & Guilds accredited Workshop Diploma, up to an Ofqual level 3 qualification.

FPP is also an ELCAS approved learning provider and some of our courses qualify for ELCAS funding (Approved training provider for the UK Armed Forces) Working from two fully equipped studios all our staff are vastly experienced and formally trained and qualified. All staff hold at least their LRPS (Licentiate of the Royal Photographic Society)

This course is an optional extra course offered to those attending our 3 day Portrait, 5 day Wedding and Portrait, 10 day advanced or 15 day course. It covers the genre of glamour photography which is not included in those courses. It is not eligible for, or part of any Elcas funded courses.

We are often requested for a more glamorous type of portfolio and also with our make-over shoots some clients want to include this. Some of our students are apprehensive and unsure how to approach this genre of photography, but understand that it’s something they may be asked for. The course also covers the legal and ethical aspects of glamour photography.

This is an extra course available to those who have already attended or are going to attend any of our courses which include the portrait module. It will give students the experience and confidence in this genre of photography

Does the cost for the photography course include everything I need? Or are there any extra fees?

The cost of the photography course covers all that you will need, including lunch and refreshments throughout the day. The only extra cost will be for accommodation if required (see above).

Do I need to have some experience in photography before I can come on a course?

You do not need to have any commercial experience; however it would benefit you if you have a good basic understanding of your camera and exposures when taking photographs.

What do I need to bring with me to the course?

Your camera equipment including; camera, small zoom lens, flash unit and memory cards, laptop and card reader (all are available during the courses to borrow if required).

Is there any back-up to help me after the course?

Once you have attended the course we offer continuous support with no restriction on time scale. You are always welcome to email, call or visit us.

What is the dress code?

There is no formal dress code. We advise you to bring something warm and weatherproof for when we will be shooting on location.

Will I need any transportation?

Transportation will be available if you do not have your own.

What use of the images taken on the course will I have?

All images taken on the course can be used for promotional purposes i.e. websites, brochures, portfolio’s.

What food and refreshments are included?

Lunch and all refreshments, including snacks and hot and cold drinks will be provided throughout the day.

What is the maximum number of students on each course?

All courses are limited to six students with up to three full-time members of staff. Digital Manipulation courses are limited to 10 students

Terms of Business

  • A non-returnable deposit of £100 is required when booking with the balance to be paid on the first day of the seminar. Failure to give four weeks' notice of cancellation of seminar will require full payment still to be paid
  • Courses booked less than four weeks before the course start date- Full payment required when booking, no cancellations or refunds will be given
  • Bookings from outside the UK- Full payment required when booking, no cancellations or refunds will be given
  • Payment is required in full when booking private seminars
  • All major credit cards are accepted
